I remember the first time I took you guys a meal shortly after Sherry had the first surgery on her leg. I always loved visiting with Sherry and went thinking I would provide encouragement to her, but of course she encouraged me instead. She told me a story about how she woke up a couple nights before to go to the bathroom. When she got back to bed and sat on the edge, she wondered how she was going to

I will never forget, Kindergarten went from half day to full day, thus requiring another Kindergarten teacher at Dartmouth Elementary. Being one year out of college and my second year as a Kindergarten Teacher, I had heard I would be working with an amazing teacher named Sherry, who was highly experienced in reading recovery. I was looking forward to meeting her, and the day I did, we had an instant connection! Here was this amazing, positive, kind, gentle, softly spoken

Many of us have been reflecting on our former co-worker and dear friend, Sherry McGarraugh Stapp. We used to tease Sherry and call her the kindergarten whisperer because she had such a way with children. Really, we should have called her the adult whisperer, too, because she had such a calming spirit. You couldn't be around Sherry and have a bad day at the same time because she wouldn't allow it. She saw the bright side of everything. She always

Dear Zane,
I am so sorry to hear of Sherry's passing. She sounded like a remarkable lady. I know she was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. I am praying for you and your family. Praying for peace and comfort and strength, both now and in the days to come.

Sherry was ALWAYS a source of encouragement. It was my joy and honor to call her friend. I was honored to be a part of a text group that she was in. Even when our prayer 'concern'/focus was about her, she would encourage us, pray for us, ask about our lives. She cared about others. She did not let her pain keep her from expressing her love for others nor her love for Jesus. She loved Jesus passionately and trusted

It was so sad to hear that Sherry McGarraugh Stapp has passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was a wonderful educator, coworker and friend. She was my son Wil's kindergarten teacher. He would often tell me about games they would play. His favorite was her subitizing song which I use in my own classroom today. Even when she was in pain from the cancer and surgeries she would still say that she wanted to put her students

Sherry was an amazing woman of God, a selfless co worker, and a dear friend. She will be missed on this side of heaven.

She was so loved and will be so missed. Sherry was always so kind to others. You could just sit next her and feel the grace coming off of her. And that's the way everyone should live their life. I loved getting to eat dinner, watch a new movie, and play games w her. She was an amazing woman. The last time I saw sherry was on FaceTime after I had an anaphylactic reaction and just seeing how happy she was to see me made me feel so loved.
