Dorthy Kindle Godwin was born on September 12, 1930 in McKinney, Texas to Bill & Wilma Kindle. Dorthy was called home on October 21, 2019 in Farmersville, Texas.

Dorthy was preceded in death by her 1st husband Chester L. McKay and her 2nd husband Earnest Godwin. She is survived by 4 siblings, Jean Furgeson, Hubert Kindle, Barbara Baker and Arnetta Talley. She is survived by 5 children, Brenda Pikkarainen, Renee Offutt, Calvin McKay, Chris McKay and Michele Loftin. She is also survived by 11 grandkids, 22 great grandkids and 1 great-great grandkid.

At an early age Dorthy had to help care for her siblings when her mother passed. Dorthy learned to become an accomplished seamstress and as she got older she had a career in the manufacturing of aviation parts and lighting. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton, Texas.

She was known for having a sympathetic ear. She was loving, kind, caring, understanding, and devoted. She didn't like being the center of attention and never wanted anyone to "make a fuss over her."

She will be deeply missed.

Services will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons in McKinney, Texas on November 15, 2019 at noon with a graveside service following at Wilson Chapel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her mother.
