Melody was a member of the South Garland High School marching and concert band. She and her husband Ray would play and sing in local coffee houses and other public events.

Melody also loved singing in the church choir and loved her family at Axe Memorial Methodist Church. She was very active on social media, such as Facebook.

She was grandmother to five grandchildren, Andrew and Harmony Wood of Sachse, TX, Tyler and Avery Dodd of Meridian, ID, and Andre Keanu Lorono Dodd of Los Angeles, CA.
